Raised in rural Morris County, Tom operates
his family farm near Council Grove. As a fourth generation and
lifelong Kansan, Tom understands the value of agriculture, business and life
within small communities and cities. He also recognizes that to
protect and preserve that life for future generations requires economic
growth. Tom is a graduate of Council Grove High School and Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in animal science. He and his wife, Virginia, have two daughters, Amy and Angela, a son-in-law, Jerrod Westfahl, and two granddaughters. Tom and Virginia are members of the Dunlap United Methodist Church where Tom serves as a Lay Leader.
